The rules that govern your use of TrustRent — written to be read, not just scrolled past.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TrustRent — the website at trustrent.net, the application at app.trustrent.net, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
TrustRent is a record-keeping and reputation service for rentals. It lets tenants, landlords, and agencies record tenancy events — agreements, rent payments, maintenance — confirm them with the other party, and turn that verified history into a trust score that can be shared.
Equally important is what TrustRent is not:
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. Accounts are personal; agency workspaces may grant access to team members, and each member must have their own account. Notify us promptly at support@trustrent.net if you suspect unauthorised use.
The value of TrustRent depends on records being genuine. When you submit a record — an agreement, a payment acknowledgement, a maintenance event — you confirm it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Many records only take effect once the other party confirms them; a record the other party disputes or ignores does not become part of verified history.
You must not submit false records, collude to fabricate history, or misrepresent your identity or role in a tenancy. We may remove records, suspend scores, or terminate accounts involved in fabrication.
The trust score is generated automatically from verified history. It is provided for information only. We make no promise that any landlord, tenant, or agency will accept it, or that it accurately predicts anyone's future behaviour. Decisions about whether to rent, let, or contract with someone remain entirely yours and the other party's.
Shared reports are deliberately minimal: a score band and per-factor summaries. They contain no addresses, payment amounts, documents, or free-text details. The score cannot be improved by payment — of any kind. We sell access and portability, never a better number.
Sharing your trust report requires an active sharing pass — a one-time purchase covering a fixed period (for example 1 month, 3 months, or 12 months, in calendar months). Passes:
Prices are shown before purchase. Except where a mandatory law provides otherwise (for example statutory withdrawal rights for consumers), pass fees are non-refundable once the pass is active. Viewing a report shared with you is always free and never requires payment or an account.
You choose when to generate a share link and who receives it. Anyone in possession of a valid link can view your report while your pass is active — treat the link accordingly. Links expire automatically after a period of time, and you can stop sharing at any time by letting your pass lapse. You must not share someone else's link or report in a misleading context.
You agree not to:
Privacy is a design principle of the Service, not an afterthought: shared reports are data-minimal, there is no public directory of scores, and nobody can look you up without a link you created. For more on how we handle personal data, see the privacy overview or contact privacy@trustrent.net.
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by TrustRent and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You retain rights in the content you submit; you grant us the licence needed to store, process, and display it for the purpose of operating the Service — including generating scores and, at your instruction, shared reports.
We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we will give reasonable notice of changes that materially affect paid features. If we permanently discontinue sharing passes you have paid for, we will refund the unused portion.
To the maximum extent permitted by law: we disclaim all warranties, express or implied; we are not liable for decisions made by any party based on a score or report, for disputes between tenants, landlords, or agencies, or for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability for claims arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You may close your account at any time from your profile. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms — in particular record fabrication and score manipulation. On closure, your data is handled as described in our privacy commitments; records that another party legitimately co-owns (such as a confirmed tenancy) may be retained in their history.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you (for example by email or an in-app notice) before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the TrustRent operating entity is established, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
